What is the Hour of Code?
The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. The Computer Science Education Week Advisory Committee, along with their partners which include Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Boys and Girls Club of USA and the College Board have come together to plan an Hour of Code event in conjunction with Comp Sci Ed Week. The Hour of Code™ is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Anyone, anywhere can organize an Hour of Code™ event. One-hour tutorials and resources are available in over 45 languages for any individual, school district or entity who wishes to take advantage of this opportunity. No experience is needed, and there are activities for children ages 4 and up.
Participating in this One Hour of Code event as a district is a great way to increase student awareness and extend this work!
